The ODES UTV Announcement

If you follow us on Instagram or Facebook, you've probably seen a few photos of our new toy.

UTV

We've been waiting anxiously to announce that we're now dealers for Odes UTVs. Since some of you have already found us on the Odes site, we think it's finally time to let the cat out of the bag.

When we opened our retail space, we made a commitment to selling only the items that we trust and use ourselves. We knew we wanted to work with Odes, but we wanted to make sure we knew what we were getting into. Essentially, there was no way we were going to recommend something we haven't used ourselves. Clearly, the responsible thing to do is buy a demo unit, push it to the limits, and document every little detail here. It's hard work, but somebody's gotta do it. Odes has an ever expanding variety of UTV models, but the Sandrail called our name. If you're looking for a traditional workhorse, the Dominators are very nice. But being surrounded by friends and family who ride around in RZRs and Rangers, we had to have the Sandrail. We had to stand out. The Sandrail is by far the most sporty and customizable rig available - and with an 800 Rotax engine, a Delphi-EFI fuel system, and a top speed of 63 MPH, it's got the power to back up those good looks. Aside from pulling it in and out of the store, last week was the first chance we got to REALLY ride. We're still in the break in period (the first ten hours) so we didn't push too hard, but so far, we're impressed. Don't be fooled by my shaky camera hands; the ride was incredibly smooth. The combination of the sporty suspension and the racing seats made for a very comfortable ride. In the photo below, you can see that the front of the Sandrail is fairly open. We've talked to a few friends with side by sides who have mentioned that it can get hot in the summer with the windshield on. Granted, the highest temps we've seen lately have only been in the sixties, but that opening allows a lot of air to flow through. We're pretty confident that this summer we'll be able to stay cool without taking a bug to the face.

Initially, we were concerned about the sound and heat coming from the fan behind us, but it never bothered us. In fact, even sitting at an idle, we barely noticed it running. We buzzed around for awhile, but couldn't resist the urge to get a little muddy. Overall, the Sandrail handled really well and has plenty of power. We're still in the very early stages of the break in, so we'll be adding more details, photos, and videos soon. We're really excited about doing some custom modifications, so those will be coming soon too. In the meantime, you can check out some technical specs on the Sandrail from the Odes site. The Sandrail currently comes to work with us everyday so stop by any time to take a look. If you're more interested in the Dominator series, we will have one coming into the store soon. As always, give us a call or shoot us an email with any questions or for more information. Of course, you could always just come play with us...
